3rd Year Teacher
This is my third year teaching 9th grade English Language Arts/Special Education. It's also my last year that I owe the state for it having paid me to get my alternative licensure and Master's Degree in Special Education.
Whew! Y'all it's a roller coaster of emotions! There are moments of joy and rallying school pride, but then there is so much despair from overworked and underappreciated people– both staff and students--that it eeks into my soul.
For the past three years, I've been drawing Archangel Michael cards for guidance. He has always protected me from lower-level energies. So, when I saw the deck of cards at my old yoga studio in Kansas City, I knew it would be helpful to me.
The first year, the card I drew told me to have a sense of humor. The second year I was told to take my time making this decision, and this year I was told to give it to God. Really, all these cards apply to every year of teaching, but it's best to focus on one goal per year.
Without a sense of humor, I would never make it as a teacher of teenagers. I know that I absolutely must retain my joy in such a big social setting. Students don't deserve anything less--neither do the adults around me.
The second year, I reminded myself to take my time in making decisions. Usually, those decisions were about whether or not students were referred to the office for disciplinary reasons. I benefited from not rushing into those decisions, too, because with time the underlying solution would be presented to me.
This year, I feel heavy, lower-level, energies permeating the spaces around me. The types of energies that people don't want to stick to them. It feels like they are coming for me. They are the types of energies that I use to feel clinging to me before I started practicing clairvoyant work to protect myself.
Therefore, this year, I have been very mindful to 'pray it away.' I keep holy water close, and I say a prayer to Archangel Michael that he prevents lower-level energies from entering my classrooms. I also work to raise my own vibrations with rose nectar and other nutrients, and essential oils, and yoga practices. I know what to do to raise my joy and I'll be practicing that daily.
