Yoga and Emails
Yoga is finding peace and balance in all aspects of living. I even take my yoga practice into opening my emails. Since I work with a lot of people, it doesn't serve me well to be bothered by everything.
Before I open emails which I suspect will be bothersome, I take a breath and energetically ground myself. Then, as I read the typed words, I try to let anything I perceive as being rude drop away. I try to just focus on the meat-and-potatoes, or the main meaning, of the message.
80% of the time, this method works. The other 20% of the time, I have to do some asanas to get the negative energy out of me. Then I return to the email and repeat the calming process before I respond.
